Shabbat School, 9:30am

We are concentrating on the Hebrew Scriptures and how we are called to serve God by knowing Him and making Him known.  We started with the Shema, one of the main standard Jewish prayers, that is found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9.  A very interesting read, particularly when you realize that it is referring to chapter 5.  I wonder what’s in that chapter???

We will continue to explore the scriptures to learn what is actually written there, not someone’s opinion about what is written, but look at what is written.

Shabbat Services, 10:30am

During the Shabbat services in Columbia, we spend time in worship and praise, time in prayer, time learning from Scripture.  After the service, feel free to stay and meet others during our Oneg, a time of light refreshment.  Oneg is a great time to ask questions of our leadership team and meet our community.

Mid-Week Study/Fellowship, Wednesdays from 6:30 – 8:00pm

During this time slot, we will have special events from time to time, like holiday celebrations, Israeli Dance lessons, Movie showings, etc.  Most weeks we will explore the Bible, and have discussions.  It is always edifying, and usually challenging, to look into God’s word and see what He has to say about this world and more.

We meet in the Columbia area at the below address:

Katie & Irwin Kahn Jewish Community Center
